You will not find another book among the many vintage books that were published over the years, which deals in so much detail with the art of rolling curls. In the past curls and waves have been an important part of hair dressing. Especially the style of the 1920ies to 1960ies is full of dressed waves and curls.
Nevertheless, in most of the books and magazines of this time you will only find pin-up dos. It seems like the art of rolling curls lost its meaning over the time and was practised less and less. These unilateral portrayals prompted me to do some research as today vintage hairstyling and curly hair dos are more popular than ever.
I did find some old books and magazines that showed curly dos – but they only showed the styles and techniques in sketches. So, the idea for my own book was born in which I wanted to show rolling techniques and curly dos in detail and with step-by-step instructions.
